Dr. Rey Shapewear Review

January 9th, 2011

If it is good enough for Carmen Electra and Denise Richards, I knew Dr. Rey’s Shapewear was going to be good enough for me! I have tried all types of shapewear, from big name brands to no name brands and I have to say I was pretty impressed. Since I just had a baby three months ago, I am currently loving the all-in-one step-in bodysuit but on my wedding day, the high waist bottom shaper brief would have been PERFECT! It gives me a super flat tummy and really does give my booty a little lift (who doesn’t love that???). Check me out in my Dr. Rey Shapewear on my new blog The Stylish Housewife. Since I am no longer planning a wedding, my new blog features more product reviews, outfit of the day posts, mommy talk and life after being a newlywed. Make sure you follow me on twitter too!

Bridalplasty…Love it or Hate it?

November 30th, 2010

bridalplasty

Image from E! Online

Bridalplasty is a show about brides who are competing to win their dream wedding which includes a complete makeover including plastic surgery. I admit, I LOVE a good makeover show. I mean I was glued to the TV watching The Swan and Extreme Makeover. Don’t get me wrong, I do not think plastic surgery is necessary to make you beautiful. And I was shocked when 20-somethings were getting fillers?!?! But I have to say, I was not impressed with this show. Unfortunately, I felt like I was watching a show that amateurs taped in their parents backyard and even Shanna Moakler (who I loved on her reality show Meet the Barkers) couldn’t keep my interest. I know when I was a bride, I would watch ANYTHING that had to do with weddings, but even then…I think I would have passed on this one. What did you think? Will you continue watching Bridalplasty?

Fairy Tale Wedding Indeed!

These photos were taken by my friend, Mrs. Amanda Doublin. Leave it to her to be part of such an amazing event. This couple received their dream wedding by raising funds to make dreams come true for orphans in Africa. All services were donated by wedding vendors (Amanda included) to make this wedding a dream come true for Glenda and Michael, thanking them for their generosity. This truly is a fairy tale  wedding, right down to the last detail. To learn more about Weddings for Africa, visit TripleCord Photography’s website.

P.S. This wedding will also be featured on TLC’s Wedding Day Makeover in December so make sure you watch for it!

Clever Proposal Idea

April 21st, 2010

marry me wooden blocks

I can’t help but think a cute way to propose would be to hide these blocks around the house with little love notes (like a treasure hunt)…out of order to throw him/her off…and watch the look on their face when they figure out that it’s a proposal!!! Get yours here.
