Three Best Friends…Three Weddings…all on the same street in Del Mar!

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

This was not on purpose but two of my closest friends and I all got married on the same street in Del Mar (15th St)! Three very different locations and three different budgets! I got married at the Pacifica Del Mar Breeze Cafe, my other friend at L’Auberge and the other at Seagrove Park overlooking the ocean. One I have known since middle school and the other since 10th grade in high school! We have two more friends to go so I am now going to have to find them two new spots so we can complete the circle!!! Just a special coincidence I thought I would share and also to let you know of a few other awesome wedding locations you may not have thought of yet. I HEART my girlfriends!!! BFF!!!

Guestbook Idea or Bridal Shower Guestbook

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I already wrote about this on my full wedding review, but I just wanted to remind you all how fun it was to read through the guests responses after the wedding! I also just noticed they have different pages for a bridal shower! WHAT A GREAT GIFT IDEA FOR THE BRIDE!!!! Bring it blank to her shower and at the end of her special day she will have such a special memory book from that day!

Guestbook Store

P.S. I actually have 29 brand new sheets of the formal wedding pages and 5 of the lined guest pages leftover from my wedding that I am giving away to any lucky bride who wants to pick them up in La Jolla or Encinitas (I paid $8.00 for 20 of the formal pages and $4.00 for the lined guest sheets)

My Bridal Shower Invitation…

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I found my invitations at Paper Paper in Del Mar. If I remember correctly, they were $15.00 for 10 ( I bought 20). They were also going to charge me $30.00 to print them so I just bought some card stock and cut it into the same tag shape and did a trial on my personal printer. It worked perfectly so since I splurged a bit on the invitations, I saved by printing them myself. I could not find a website for Paper Paper but these are the invitations I got here.

Of course I just found these instructions online after the fact, but hopefully it saves you time!

Wish Bowl…

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

I saw these tickets and just think they are such a cute idea for a wish bowl…for a bridal shower or wedding! These are available at Room Service for only $10.00 per roll.

Cute Idea…

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

This is such a cute idea…especially for beach themed or near the beach weddings! As a favor, you fill a bucket with flip flops near the entrance or maybe by the dance floor. I know my feet were killing me at my wedding! I found this super cute bucket at Room Service Home. It is a little pricey at $58.00, but you could just use a few aluminum ones and make signs to match your color theme. Also, Michaels is having a sale on foam flip flops this week for only $1.00 each! I am loving this idea..

Yes to the dress!!!

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Is anyone else addicted to this show? OMG…even though my wedding has come and gone, I just LOVE this show! Which reminds me…I have two in the DVR queue to watch! Check out your local listings…it is on TLC.

Say Yes to The Dress reveals the inner workings of the world’s premier bridal salon, Kleinfeld Bridal. Part fashion show, part bridal story, part family therapy, we uncover the hurdles every staff member faces to make each bride completely satisfied on what may be the single most important day of their lives.

Watch as a team of specialists guide brides through the process of selecting, fitting, altering and delivering each flawless dress in time for the perfect day. It’s not a stress-free endeavor, but somehow by the final fitting Kleinfeld pulls all of the details together. Part docusoap surrounding the shop, but more the fascinating tales of the women who are in search of the most important dress they’ll ever buy.

Although they did wear out this this dress last season…not one of my favorites but I am a huge fan of Pnina Tornai. I think EVERY bride that stepped foot in Kleinfelds tried it on!

My Bridal Shower…

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

I am kinda going backwards here, but I just wanted to share some pics from my bridal shower. It was such an exciting fabulous day! My mom and best friend/maid of honor hosted my party and it was absolutely perfect! Enjoy every moment of your special day! Yay for brides!

No more Polaroid guestbooks…makes me sad!!!

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Polaroid is discontinuing their instant film products which means no more polaroid wedding guest books! I just cant believe it!!! And just when it seemed to be the hottest trend making a comeback! It was so fun looking at all of the pics that our friends took the day after the wedding and I just LOVE how our guestbook turned out. I just had to break mine out again and look at it! You can read more at www.polaroid.com.

Why Trunk Shows are the BEST…

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

I was lucky enough to find my dream dress, but I also got to meet the designer of my dress at a trunk show! Here is a picture of Edric Woo and me. He is the designer for Tara Keely which is a division of Jim Hjelm. I also got 10% off of my dress for buying it at a trunk show. You can find a Tara Keely dress for you by visiting www.tarakeely.com. Happy trunk show shopping!

Choosing my wedding dress…

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

I tried on only two gowns before deciding on my dress. The first was an Alfred Angelo dress. I saw this dress in a magazine and thought it was really flattering. My mother and I were going to see “Wicked” while I was living in LA so to kill some time before the play, we stopped by Alfred Angelo. I tried on the dress I had seen in the magazine and although I thought it was pretty, it was just too plain. I also didnt want to buy the first dress I tried on but quickly found out I did not have much time to decide. I never knew that wedding dresses were made to order and took approx 4-6 months to arrive!!! We had already chosen our wedding date which was only 4 1/2 months away! Just a few days later I was thumbing through one of my bride magazines and saw the dress of my dreams. I actually showed it to Chris because I thought there was no chance I could afford it. He tooked one look and said, “that’s hot”…so I knew it was the one. I never told Chris but I found out that Here Comes the Bride was actually having a Tara Keely trunk show the following weekend! Can you say….meant to be??? I called and found out that the dress was more than my mom wanted to pay for a dress, but I knew if I could just try it on, she would fall in love too! And so the dress was mine! We did have to pay for a rush cut and it came in only two weeks before the wedding, but with a few alterations…it was perfect. I LOVED my dress :) Here are the pics of my trips to Alfred Angelo and then to Here Comes the Bride…

The first two are at Alfred Angelo and the next two are at Here Comes the Bride…

And the final dress after a few alterations. I also moved the ribbon to an empire waist and added a broach. I love my dress :)
