Happily Ever After Garland…too cute!

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

SOOOO CUTE!!! You can get this adorable Happily Ever After Garland from CariKraft’s to decorate for your engagement party or bridal shower! Or if you are a crafty bride, you can buy just the “engaged” flashcards and make your own!

DIY Centerpiece Idea {Glass Jar Frames}

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Here is another spin-off of the bell jar-ish idea from the Design*Sponge blog! I think this might be my favorite idea yet! I am thinking you could use baby food jars (rinsed out of course, and fancied up however you wish) with each guests names in them for your escort table and then have a glass jar collage centerpiece with you and your fiancé’s favorite pictures on each table! FUN DIY project!!!

rolodex guestbook

Today I came across one of my new favorite blogs…We Met in a Bar (yes.they.met.in.a.bar)! So to all my single friends out there…YES YOU CAN! Woot Woot, for another Southern Cali blogging bride! Anywho…I saw this adorable idea on her blog…a rolodex guestbook! Guests write a love note on one side and their contact info on the other! CUTE!

Nest Bell Jars {Adorable Centerpiece Idea}

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS IDEA. Love bird themes are all the rage, especially for spring weddings! How adorable are these nest bell jars??? Who needs flowers when you can have these centerpieces? I found these at Williams-Sonoma. TOO CUTE!

What a fun idea! This couple rented a photobooth from Peekaboo and set up a scrapbook table so guests could each make a page for their guestbook! I came across this idea on the Orange Turtle Photography blog, another one of San Diego’s great wedding & engagement photogs! To see more of their work, check out their full website here.

Wedding Day Emergency Kit…

Monday, September 29th, 2008

I have seen kits for sale that are $49.00 and higher, but you can make your own kit for much less using supplies you may already have at home. My mom made mine by buying a cute vintage looking box from Ross for less than $10 and filled it with the following:

Aspirin, Sewing Kit, Safety Pins, Nail File, Kleenex, Mints/Gum, Compact Mirror, Clear Nail Polish, Band-Aids, Band-Aid Blister Blocker, Bobby Pins, Visine, Hair Spray, Deoderant, Tide Stain Remover Pen and Double Stick Tape.

We ended up using only a few of the items, but we had a VERY small wedding party (just a Maid of Honor and Best Man) so no real emergencies, thank goodness! But I was glad we had everything “just in case”!

If you still want to purchase one, I found this one at www.roomservicehome.com for $49.00.

Wedding Maps…

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

I am in love with these custom wedding maps from www.couturemaps.com! The only problem is that they are not accepting any new orders until MAY 2009!!!

So I thought I would give you a few other options! www.weddingmapper.com allows you to create a custom online wedding map which you can then link to your personal wedding websites or just send the link to friends and family via email! They also have diy instructions for making your own custom printable wedding maps…all for free! If you want custom wedding maps made and printed for you, check out these alternatives: www.invitationmaps.com, www.snappymap.com and www.distinctivedirections.com. I also found www.jimhuntillustration.com, which features custom made wedding maps by the cartoonist who draws the Dennis the Menace comics, if you can believe that! I am not certain if he is still taking requests, but it is worth a look!

And lastly, to keep with the map theme I’ve got going on…check out www.maptote.com! They have city map totes that make for awesome OOT gift bags or bridesmaid gifts! San Diego totes were not available when I was planning my wedding, but I was told new cities are on the way!

Ok…this is the last map related item I LOVE….City Map Pillows that are hand stitched by Cat Studio. I lived in both NYC and LA so I have both pillows. Not really wedding related, but I just had to share! www.catstudio.com

Which do you prefer???

Ok, so here is round two of my do it yourself inspiration boards! I made these with my own personal wedding pictures on powerpoint. I am getting a little better, I think! What do you think?

Martha Stewart Favor Boxes…

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

I filled my martha stewart favor boxes with green and brown m&m’s and gave them out as bridal shower favors. I was going to do the custom m&m’s but since my wedding colors were granny apple green and chocolate brown, I saved money by just using the regular green/brown m&m’s! Anyways, I just wanted to show you some of the SUPER CUTE favor boxes as seen on www.marthastewart.com! I used the white eyelet ones seen below:
