Share your wares on Bride$hare!

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

Who isn’t looking to save a little green while planning the wedding of their dreams? Check out Bride$hare from one of our faves, The Broke-Ass Bride. Imagine finding another bride that has a similar color scheme as you or the same style…now imagine you could share the cost of using each others centerpieces or accessories. At Bride$share, you can do just that! Have leftover items from your wedding or want to sell your wedding gown after the big day? Well, you can do that too!

The Bride$hare mission is simple: help ease pressure on the wallet – and the world – through the recycling and reuse of everything wedding related. After all, green is the new white! Enjoy!

I do it for the karma.

Beautiful ostrich feathers and silver dollar silk feathers were used to spruce up the table and boy did they! Not only am I in love with this table, but the bride LOVES See’s candy, just like me! Must be a Cali thing =) The butterscotch suckers, california brittle and almond buds are my absolute fave! YUM!

Silhouette Artist ~ Karl Johnson

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

This bride & groom chose a silhouette theme and actually had Karl Johnson,  of  Cut Arts (in Los Angeles..woo hoo) cut silhouettes for their guests live at the wedding! SUCH a unique and memorable treat for their guests!

Be sure and check out his blog to see more!

What the bride & groom had to say…

~Karl was the first vendor I booked for our wedding.  After seeing the spread in the Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine, I knew I had to have him.  Our entire wedding theme was built around the silhouettes.  We used silhouettes of ourselves for the invitations, the seating chart, the programs, and of course our favors were custom silhouettes of each guest.  The duplicate silhouette of each of our guests was placed in a guest book and each person signed or wrote a message.  It is amazing how you don’t even have to look at name or message to know who it is!  The silhouette them and favors made our wedding absolutely unforgettable for us and all our guests!  Karl, we can’t thank you enough…you are insanely talented and we were so privileged to have had you at our wedding!
Best Wishes and Much Love,
Rachael and Massimo

Temple of Groom

FINALLY, a groom who wants to take on more duties than “just showing up on time” on his wedding day!

Check out the Temple of Groom to hear the groom’s side of the story. My favorite so far…his wife-to-be chose his arch nemesis sports teams colors for their wedding colors…the horror! LOL…

Butterfly Release…Hip Hip Hooray or No Way?

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

OK, so I had never heard about a butterfly release until today. I am not quite sure how I feel about this. I think butterflies are beautiful and all, but it kinda freaks me out that a) they are FedEx’ed to you and b) I worry that they will get smashed (i.e. some people are freaked out by bugs landing on them). BUT, that being said, I do think it could also be a very special experience! I think I like the idea of a mass release versus the individual envelope release. What do you think? Have you ever been to a wedding that had a butterfly release? I would love to hear about your experience!
