Here it is ladies & gents…THE perfect invitation for your formal beach wedding! The ladies from Melangerie NYC have done it again! I love the sleek modern look of these invites!

Congrats to Melangerie NYC, who have been featured in the Spring/Summer 2009 issues of New York Weddings and Brides New York!!!

LANA & STEVE’S BEACH WEDDING PAPERIE

Lana & Steve were married on a beach in St. Maarten during the Spring of 2009. Their invitation was inspired by the sea, but also reflected the couple’s modern taste and the formality of their wedding ceremony. Each wedding event is indicated on a separate card joined together by a coordinating band. When assembled, Lana & Steve’s invitation references the ocean’s tide.

We also created programs fashioned as fans, a sea shell inspired guest book, and wavy, calligraphic escort cards & table numbers to accent the day’s festivities.

Melangerie has done it again! This was done in lieu of a traditional guestbook for a wedding. I think it would be a fun idea for an engagement party so you could also have a traditional guestbook. I myself had a polaroid giftbook as well as a Guestbook Store guestbook and it was a bit much to ask of our guests in the same day. Luckily, we have awesome friends who did both for us! Just had to share another awesome original idea from Melangerie NYC!

LINDSEY & BRAD’S DIRTY LAUNDRY

This alternative wedding guest book encouraged guests to “air out” the
bride and groom’s dirty laundry.

Instructions inscribed on a detergent bottle prompted guests to write
funny stories about Lindsey & Brad on cards shaped like shirts, pants,
socks, etc. Guests then clipped the cards to the “clothesline,” which
was strung at the reception entryway.

Melangerie is currently in the process of designing a memory book with these
cards so notes from Lindsey & Brad’s guests will never fade away.

Kris & Gabe were married in Providence, Rhode Island at a 1920’s era casino.

For the couple’s “save the date’s”, Melangerie used imagery from a vintage postcard of the bride and groom’s event location. The front of the card features a vintage illustration of the casino, and the back includes original postage marks from the vintage piece. They added event information to the back of the postcard in classic, archived typefaces for a charming yet easy to produce save the date card.

For the wedding invitation, they designed their “monogram” and invitations to reflect a deco-modern vibe, and gave an additional nod to the venue by referencing playing cards in the invite’s construction.

These are just so insanely awesome and original that I just had to share! Enjoy!
