Hire a Caricature Artist for Your Wedding!

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

How many times have you walked by a caricature artist and been tempted to stop and have your picture drawn? I know I certainly have been tempted! Wouldn’t it be a treat to have a caricature artist entertain your guests while they await your arrival and even during your reception? Some of these artists can “quick draw” up to 15-18 (black & white, fewer if in color) faces per hour! These particular drawings were done by a local artist Andrea Leigh, a native southern California girl who’s been drawing since she was just four years old. Most artists have a two hour minimum and charge approximately $150/hr. This would surely be a fun addition to your memorable day!

Dot Thoughts…

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

As my twitter friends know, I went to the Encinitas street fair this past weekend. I LOVE street fairs! The food…the shopping…and most of all the people watching!!! Oh, and the people watching SO did not disappoint this year. This time I came home with a drawing of Led Zeppelin (strangely, I am 10 years younger than my husband and I am the HUGE Zeppelin fan…not him). Anywho…the real reason for this post is to share the cutest gift idea yet…DOT THOUGHTS! You get to pick out seven adorable magnets, which fit perfectly in a little tin box for only $8.00. I, of course, HAD to have one…and even though I got married in April, I still HAD TO HAVE the “Bride” magnet. There were tons of magnets to choose from so you can personalize a gift for any friend. I think it would be the BEST idea ever to buy a bunch of the magnets and however many tins you need and give these as gifts at either your bridal shower or if possible at your wedding!!! Talk about an awesome conversation piece!!!

Does anyone else remember making these in middle school??? What a GREAT idea to have these on each table to entertain your guests…they are only $1.00 each or if you remember how to make them…your memory is better than mine! I found these on etsy.com. CUTE!
