Escort Card vs. Place Card

escort-cards

What an elegant escort table! You know, it’s photo’s like these that make me just want to plan another wedding! We had a very small intimate wedding so we did not have assigned seating. Since I did not have escort cards or place cards, I found this information from the Pink Galoshes blog to be very useful for those of you who are:

“Your escort table is the reception’s first focal point and a source of guidance for guests, instructing everyone where to go upon entering the main dining room. The cards can be playful and whimsical, elegant and sophisticated, or simple and understated. It is the guests’ first glimpse to what is behind the closed doors or drapes of the tent, their first peek at what surprises may be in store for them”.

“Escort cards are normally displayed on a table adjacent to the entrance of the reception. Their purpose is to guide guests to their correct table number, an effective system of organization if you choose not to have formal seating, but still want people at assigned tables. Take note, a place card is slightly different from an escort card. Place cards are set out at the dinner table itself, showing each guest exactly in which chair to sit during the reception. These may be crucial if your dinner is catered to the exact guest. Escort cards on the other hand indicate a table, but not a seat”.

Make a Scene at your Wedding!

Monday, March 16th, 2009

YOU are going to LOVE this! CRAZY FUN wedding favor alert!!! Check out A Little Scene Flip Books!!!

a little scene flip books

Here’s How it Works:

  1. A 10 x 10 mobile studio is set up at your event.
  2. A person or several people stand in front of the camera with or without props.
  3. A short video is taken while your guests dance, hold up a sign, blow kisses and just be themselves.
  4. Once they review the video and like it, we print the video, put it through our cutter and bind the small book right in front of their very eyes.
  5. When they flip through the flip book, they will smile in astonishment that they can see their video inside.

It’s that simple. The whole process just takes minutes! Your guests will forever have a customized keepsake that will brighten their day for years to come.

They can make approximately 35-50 flip books per hour. This allows for plenty of opportunity for all of your guests to make a little scene!

Customizing Your Flip Book Experience:

Their state of the art software and technology allows you to display personalized scrolling message for your event guests. As they flip through their books the message you have chosen will scroll across the bottom like a CNN news headline. It is a great way to thank your guests for being a part of your special event and make your wedding even more memorable!

They can also customize your flip book covers, adding your own personal touch to each flip book. Covers can be any color and include names, dates, pictures, and much more. If you can dream it, they can create it!

Beach Destination Wedding {Details}

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

I think these may just be the best favors/details I have seen yet for a beach-themed wedding (nothing against blue or sand dollars)! These are from a Cabo destination wedding featured on The Knot. Parasols were provided to guests for shade during the beach ceremony, fresh white towels to dust off the sand on their feet, candles had facts about the couple wrapped around them and were tied with ribbon, empty glass bottles were left with pieces of paper for guests to write messages to the happy couple and place in the bottles, burlap bags were filled with goodies for all of the guests, and to finish it off…they had maracas engraved with the guests names at each place setting. Perfection. All photos by Paperwhites Photography.

Custom Jones Soda Bottles!

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

I just found out that you can submit your own photos and make custom MyJones Soda bottles! How fun is that? I LOVE anything than you can customize with your own personal photos, labels, etc. SO I had to submit the cutest picture ever of a dog that we came across on our wedding day. We are both HUGE animal lovers so of course, had to take a pic with him! Both photos are by my photographer Sean Schofield. Anyways…check out www.myjones.comand submit your own picture and maybe yours will be chosen to be on their next series. Or even better, make your own custom bottles with a pic of you and your fiance and use them as favors, part of an elaborate save the date, invitation or placecard holders for your tables! They are $29.99 for a case (12 bottles/one photo) + shipping. Sure, a little expensive but AWESOME!
